What do you do at Kathryn Wilson?

I worked in the three KW stores holding down the retail side of things. I've actually just taken on the role of E-commerce and admin assistant at our HQ, which is such an exciting opportunity and so cool to be moving up within a business that I'm so close to.   

How long have you been with KW?

I remember interviewing in my school uniform! I started in 2015 so it’s coming up 4 years now.

What is a typical day like for you at KW?

I start off by grabbing a coffee (of course) before opening up the shop and replying to emails or sending out online orders that have come in overnight. My day is then filled with helping ladies find their perfect pair of shoes - and having fun doing it! It’s so rewarding – I love a busy day in store, it’s so satisfying closing up knowing there’s women out there who are planning their outfit for the next day with brand new shoes! We sometimes hold events in-store or out around Auckland too – I love working these, they’re always such a good time.

What’s your favourite thing about working at KW?

I love our little KW Footwear family, and whenever I help a customer I feel like they’re part of that family too! It’s so cool seeing ladies faces light up when they’re trying on our shoes.

What is a funny work memory?

I was at a family wedding a few months back when I realised I had sold the mother of the bride her shoes without knowing it! I sent a pic to Kath straight away - she looked gorgeous, it was really cool to see my work in a real life situation.

What are the values that drive you?

Determination, respect, and above all kindness.

What is your favourite style this season and how do you wear it?

I’m loving leopard print at the moment, so I want to get myself a pair of the classic Kylie heels in that colourway. Although my fave so far in W19 has been the Lucia Boot – you can put it on with literally anything and it looks so classy and elegant!

What does having happy feet mean to you?

You know that feeling you get when you put on an outfit in the morning, everything works perfectly and you just feel SO good and ready for the day? That’s happy feet! You feel like you can conquer anything when you’ve got on the right pair of shoes.

What do you love doing when you’re not working, hobbies?

I’m a student currently so that takes up most of my time, but I’m traveling in a few months with my partner so I’m doing a lot of planning and daydreaming about that! I love animals, snuggling up with a good movie and some snacks, and doing brekkie and a walk with a friend.

Top 3 Cafes/eateries recommendations?

Ooohh that’s a tricky one – Winona Forever, Amano and the La Cigale French markets on a Sunday morning. Oh and you literally can’t beat the fries from Burger Burger...

If you could only take 3 things with you to a deserted island….

A dog (I love dogs), a blanket because I can never decide if I’m hot or cold, and my boyfriend to keep me company.
